Upon opening a new packet (sealed) of dry lasagne sheets I noticed there was a tiny bug (like a small beetle) crawling over one of them. I have had this before with lasagne sheets and was wondering whether anyone else has had this problem and if any one can offer me any advice on how to store them to prevent this.
Many thanks

Hi, these little black bugs are probably weevils. You find them in flour and dry goods. To prevent them from getting in, store your lasagne sheets in an air tight container, it must be air tight! In big kitchens weevils were often found in flour drums. They won't do any harm, but they're not very pretty!

Thank-you for that a trip to the supermarket for some air tight jars is in order tomorrow. I love making lasagne but this is seriously puuting me off!
hmm, they are very very small, and even with airtight containers, they can get in, you need to throw away everyhitng they could be in, strip your cupboards and thoughly clean all of the containers and shelves..

they love flour and pasta, rice and a few other things,

they wont do you much harm as long as you dont eat too many of them!, but they as said above, dont look too pretty!
