Maybe now some feel sufficiently emboldened to be more vocal about it. It's a big ask to expect individuals to stick their head above the parapet when they seem to be in a real-life whack-a-mole situation.
There are many nations in the near vicinity to that part of the world which are in a similar position. Maybe events will allow them to follow suit sometime.
