Can I go back to the OP?  This sort of effort at governmental control is precisely why I use cash whenever possible.

I can foresee the day when (if people continue to use cards so that cash is obsolete) they will have certain items of their shopping refused - in the interests of their health.  It creepsnearer rapidly.
