Anyone else think Paxman behaved like an arrogant bully towards the unfortunate losers on Monday 23rd October? What a sad little man!

He was turned down when he applied to be a contestant during his time at Cambridge University. It also infuriates me when he says ''come on, come on'' when there are only a few minutes remaining when he doesn't do the same during the rest of the programme. Even if a team are poor and score lowly, there are many reasons for that not least of which is the pressure of being in a studio. Those of us who have appeared on TV shows and quizzes know the pressure that overcomes people (as well as the glare of the lights which is something that most people don't realise) to such an extent that you sometimes have difficulty remembering your name.
To be honest if he wasn't on it I don't think I'd bother watching it.
There are plenty of teams who waste time (not necessarily on purpose) often when they don't even know the answer and it does mean the other team have less time to get back in a game.
As it happens I've been on a TV quiz show and while I agree it's difficult it would equally effect both sides.

I'm glad to have sparked off a bit of a debate here, and, obviously, I'm inclined to approve Osprey's line of argument, rather than Wo-Wo's.
I also confess I enjoy watching Paxman taking on Cameron, or Blair, or Howard - opponents who can punch their weight. But those kids on Monday were out of their depth and didn't deserve his supercilious sneering.
Weren't the Oxford team brilliant, by the way?
