this song is really calm and relaxing, just the piano and the singer. the singer sounds sort of cross between gnarls barkley and nina simone. im pretty sure its a group, or a singer and then the group, like: lionel richie and the commodores, for example. its quite a modern song. definitely from the 21st century. i know this is a vague description, but thats all i can remember. any ideas?

Sometimes even a phrase can be a big help.

i'm afraid not. you'd think i'd be able to remember something but i can't!! the only thing i can say (which will b most definitily unhelpful) is there is a bit in the song which sounds a lot like that bit in westlife's `flying without wings` that goes `some in their solitary lives.` the tune is similar
I bet this is really bugging you now. It is starting to get to me too!
I have just checked Maroon 5- Songs about Jane but nothing on that album is remotely calm or relaxing. But i think he sounds like a cross between Gnarls and Nina! (What a combination!)
Could this be a recent release? or has it been around for a bit?Lionel Ritchie has a new release out at the moment.
I hope you get to hear it again and maybe get more out of it. I shall keep thinking. post an answer hear if you do. I shall keep an eye on it.
Good luck!
Hi again, Have just found out that Ruben Studdard recorded a version of Flying Without Wings on his Soulful album, is it remotely possible that this is what you heard? You can listen to a snippet on amazon http://www.amazon.com/Soulful-Ruben-Studdard/d p/B0000AGWGD/sr=1-3/qid=1161039319/ref=pd_bbs_ 3/002-4852070-9236801?ie=UTF8&s=music

Hi, it's me again.
I have just been listening to Backstreet Boys, ( I actually quite like them) and something struck me about one of their songs. Just wondering if you ever listen to them.
One of their songs on the new album sounds as if it could fit the description you gave and then I remembered another of their songs on a previous album very fitting too. They use the piano and one voice on several of their songs.
Have been trying to find a site where you can listen to clips but have been unsuccessful. Maybe you know someone with the albums if you dont have them.
The tracks are: Safest Place To Hide - from Never Gone

Drowning - from Hits Chapter one

heres a link to just one of many sites for BSB ;

They may not be the answer to your problem but they are pretty good to listen to!

Or this site might help:
