Grey & dull here, but hoping that it brightens. Busy day today - priority is ringing vet as soon as it opens to try and get my Molly (3yr old cat) an appointment. She was limping with her front right paw, but seemed happy enough, & thought maybe she's just done one of her daft jumps and landed awkwardly, but lastnight she started to hop on it when walking (won't put that paw down at all) so clearly it hurts too much. Fingers crossed it's nothing serious. Then at 9.30am(unless vet gives me an app at that time) I have the guy arriving to measure my bathroom windows as he will be fitting blinds in there. Just need to measure, then choose them. It's such a sun trap that in summer it's broad daylight in there 4.30am! Plus it would just look nicer with something on the windows. Then usual Friday supermarket shopping this afternoon(again depends on cat), plus so,e work.

So what does everyone else's Friday have in store?x

Hazlinny, when my ASBO ripped his side open so he had to be stitched up (and neutered at the same time to save a second anaesthetic) he had to wear a collar.  He removed said collar and then removed his stitches.  He was re-stitched and then a more secure collar was applied.  I had a cat flap which went through the wall of the house and during his "house arrest" I blocked the hole with books and then put a box of wine in front of it.  You can imagine my surprise when on the phone one evening I saw him leg it up the garden - having overcome my blockade.  I managed to get to him just before he made a leap at the fence.  He raked my face and split my lip.  Thereafter he was confined to one room of the house for a few weeks.  I loved that little devil so much, but my goodness he was a shocker.

Wow!  Little monsters but so lovable.  Mitzi had just had her tail amputated (due to farm accident) and really should have been resting!  No way!

Aww thanks everyone - I've given Molly a hug from all of you. Yep she had the cone off in minutes, but then fell asleep and is still asleep. Have never even thought of cutting a hole in a paper plate! And I didn't even realise they did inflatable collars. I could also put a sock on her if I could find anything that size - do they do cat socks??

Baby socks from Tesco ! I have used them on the dogs in the past.

It probably needs the air to get to it until it has started to dry out. Once it has dried out, you could put some vet wrap round it.

When I had the girls spayed, I had them wear cat baby gros for as long as possible, but Princess Emily was ever so dramatic about her silly suit and feigned the inability to walk (unless Dreamies were on offer). Once the wound was dry and clean, I put a bit of vet wrap on to stop them pulling the stitches out. They were much happier then.

Getting our Sally cat to take medication was an absolute nightmare. She could spot pills in any of the food/ treats offered to her and though she was the gentlest of cats inserting the pill in her mouth would result in her struggling and then  spitting it out repeatedly

Rosetta, that reminded me of my old lady.  I used to go to the vets and requested 2 worming pills.  When questioned I used to say "one for the cat, but the first one for under the washing machine".

lol ^^^^
