that's when they are on speaker normally.

Because they think we all want to hear their conversations. Mind you, that statement doesn't just apply to the young 'uns. There are plenty of self-important middle-aged people who annoyingly think the same way.

haha!! I think we were always used to using a conventional phone, lots of young people have never even used a landline phone so that's the natural way to use a mobile, especially as a lot of the time they are also video calling or looking at their screen at the same time.

Are they the ones who have a coffee in the other hand?

Is the fear of radiation melting the brain no longer a thing?

It prevents greasy face/ear marks on the screen.

I was at the airport and all ages were doing it.

The microphone on my phone is on the bottom edge, next to the USB port.  It makes sense to talk in to that

It started a few years so and has become kewel.

Until something else comes along.

I rarely make voice calls. Text or apps...

I guess it must be instinctive if on a video call.  But surely one usually makes normal audio calls ?
