My Therapist Wants Me To Come Up With Some Of My Strengths. What Does She Want To Hear?

Last session my therapist wanted me to tell her some of my strengths. I started with telling her that im caring, because I take good care of my cat. I keep her up to date on all her shots, and I feed her high quality food. My therapist told me that's not really what she's looking for. Im probably going to be going to a job interview soon, and she said that they'll ask me this question at an interview. I'm respectful, I'm easy to work with, and I have a strong work ethic. Do you think that's what she wants me to say?

Only if it's true

Therapy won't work if you say what you think they want to hear. Total waste of time.

If you can't think of any other strengths you have, tell her.

Ask her for examples of the sort of strengths she means, since you gave an answer and have no idea why it was rejected.

Why not look back at your previous questions on here and see if you can find any strengths from them?

You are very attentive to detail and have strong feelings about right and wrong but you are often unsure whether or not to report the wrongdoers to the relevant authority.

You are quite amenable to asking others for advice.

Do you do any voluntary work, what skills do you have, what work experience

Persistent?

Strengths relevant to a job interview include Work ethic, Time management skills, Problem-solving abilities, Communication skills, and Teamwork skills.

You have a keen eye for even the most minor transgressions.
