Idk what kind of bones they are. I think they are steak bones that have been cooked. My moms dog stays with us 5 days a week, and my aunt wants to let him chew on the cooked bones. I told her it's unsafe because they can splinter and cause an injury. She was like "omg he will be fine!" I don't want to argue with her but I definitely don't want my moms dog to get hurt.

It's her dog not yours. You have given your opinion.  If you can find a scientific report which backs you up then maybe print a copy off and leave it for her. Unless you plan to report her to the US equivalent of RSPCA

For the first time ever, I agree with you Cindy.

But please don't report your aunt to the authorities.

RAW BONES ONLY!!!

I agree with 1ozzy. Cooked bones can be dangerous for dogs.  Show the article that 1ozzy has posted.

Remind your mum and aunt how much you will have to pay a Veterinarian if a bone causes damage.

I agree lozzy. The consensus seems to be to avoid cooked bones. I wouldn't give them. By scientific I would include vets.  I just mean the aunt seems to have made her mind up so whatever fact sheets you give her should be from experts rather than tik tok videos or Facebook posts or forum chats.

That's all you can do Cindy.

Remind your aunt how much pain a brittle splintered bone will cause your mums pooch to suffer.

This may be a case of someone ignoring any concerns or  complaints from someone who cries wolf far too often.

Pick your battles or issues.

do you spend your entire life agonising over what other people do?
