Has anyone ever seen or experienced any of this mythical "white privilege"? I keep looking for mine never found it.

What we have learned from Hymie is that he sees people as different colours - I see people as people.

I went on a full 7 hour DEI course in London a few weeks ago, and I got two things out of it.

 

1. An email telling people to respect each other, which is what I have always done anyway, would have sufficed.

 

2. 7 hours of CPD, about 20% of my yearly requirement.

The only unconscious bias shown by that is the test setter's and test giver's bias against folk with a lighter shade of skin colour.  The accusation of a non-existent privilege screams that fact to the rafters.

 

Clearly both setters and those using the tests are in the wrong job. They need to apply for a position where the employer is asking for applicants to act as a bad example to others and cause huge rifts in existing teams.

When a company operates a colour–bar, refusing to employ persons of certain ethnicities, people who see people as just people, will see nothing wrong (after all, they are employing people).

 

Non-whites might see this as discrimination.
