A Skill You Never Knew A Parent Had.

In car SOS this week they had a bit of a debate about what is preferable. If you were going to buy a car that had drop head or coupe versions what woould you go for? Personally I've never seen the point of a convertable. If it's hot you want the roof up with AC, if it's cold you want the roof up with the heater on! If it's raining you want the roof up. If it's bright you have the sun in your face all the time from all angles. I just can't think of a scenario when I'd want the roof down.

First hint of summer maybe but usully it's too hot to have sun burning on the head or forehead or face, always having to wear a cap. It is a bit posey so I don't do it often.
Our 'daily' car has a pano roof. Only closed the blind yesterday as my daughter was too warm in the back. AC copes with the sun otherwise.
Convertible occasional car - we wear baseball style caps to keep the sun out of our eyes. Drove from Leeds to Gloucestershire/ Oxfordshire last summer with the top down all the way. Likewise back again. Zero issues.
Ditto ChatPGTips we have a panoramic roof car and a roadster except I haven't driven from Leeds to Gloucester and back.
I don't like motorway driving with the top down but that's more to do with fumes etc and it makes you realise the standard and speed of others driving somehow rather than in a saloon car. And of course everyone is much "taller" than you!
