Good Morning Everyone
A gloriously sunny day here. I hope Smow is feeling better and is allowed home today. I have recovered from my last round of gardening ,so am going to have another go. At least the jobs this time are not mammoth.
I think I might even have to water some things!! It seems odd to say that, with the amount of rain we have had, but we are not forecast any until next weekend.
A while back I got my first smart phone, a Samsung Galaxy recommended by a lot of Abers. I don't use it correctly and I have to keep having help . I think have I found a local course where theyn help you with your devices. I hope so as I don't have any family I can ask, or knew any youngsters. Technology and I do not get on.
Question( from something that arose): Does anybody still write cheques these days?

Spent the weekend gardening and I am paying for it today! Not only did I overdo it and hurt all over, but I caught the sun despite wearing high factor and now I resemble Dax from Star Trek!!!
I have not had a cheque book for over 10 years. On the rare occassion I get a cheque I either pay it in over the app or take it to a post office.
Good morning all. It's gloriously sunny here and the winds we were getting have finally died down. So, I'll finally get out after being indoors for 5 days. I hope Smow is also getting out this morning.
I've got a cheque book around *somewhere*...it's probably the same one that was issued to me when I switched banks almost 20 years ago. I've absolutely no reason to use it. The last cheque I received was about 5 years ago.
Calda, I have a Samsung Galaxy and have had only Samsung for years...they are incredibly easy once you get the hang of them.
Morning all, its lovely and sunny here too.
Smow, if you are looking in, hope you are back home and taking it easy, Or at the least its a Madge free zone.
Calda, like you I am not tech savvy nor is my husband. My younger son died suddenly and he was our Mr Fixit. My older son works very long hours and when he does visit I dont like to bother him and he rolls his eyes at my ineptitude. I need a teenager. Also I think Buenochico on AB has the same phone. he is normally on AB in the evening and is very very helpful. I tend to panic with the damn things and assume I am going to muck it up completely. My husband thinks it is an age thing, a better reason than I am thick
WE have a food delivery due shortly and I am hoping for one of my rare outings, to the garden centre.
Have a happy day everyone
Hope Smow did get home yesterday and not still suffering Madge. Loveley and sunny here, also spent yesterday afternoon gardening, bin now full and not being ollected until Wednesday next week.
I am another one with a Samsung, do not use half the facilities, even though Mr U is great with computer technology, not so hot on phones.
Been to the opticians, not so great, she was so shocked by the change in the last year I am now waiting for a hospital appointment with the eye clinic. Feel like I have spent half my life there over the last few years.
It's Good Afternoon now for me 😊 Hope Smow is resting at home away from the Madge Zone. I do use cheques from time to time - books were always sent out automatically but I had to phone for last one - as she took my details, girl commented "so you like using cheques"! Re Samsung, I am finding out more and more uses as each day goes by.
Thank you for all your replies. Iam glad I'm not the only one that isn't tech savvy!
I think my most scary moment with technology came when computers first came in and I was teaching. There was a room with 30 children and 15 computers and I was supposed to teach them!!! I think some knew more than me, as I didn't own a computer at the time.
Enjoy the rest of your day everyone.
Good afternoon Calda and everyone.
Hope Smow is at home resting and getting the rest she needs, Madge seemed a bigger ordeal than what had befallen her having Asthma. (Inspired below to collect inhalers today)
Lovely and Sunny oop here in West Yorkshire, just back from local Chemist's on the 'High street' closing down today, I saw it reported on the news nationaly but blimey! I wasn't informed about the one where I collect my repeat perscriptions from.
luckily where they're now re-directed isn't much farther... but if I hadn't gone today to collect them not sure I'd have found out 🤔
Have a lovely Beaver day everyone whatever she may bring you.
