A tariff is a tax on American consumers and businesses. They voted for him because they wanted lower prices.

Increasing prices for them as well as crashing the stock markets and screwing their pension funds isn't exactly doing what they voted him in to do.

But as a loyal Trumper I guess these concepts are alien to you.

It's a great opportunity for a bit of insider dealing to be fair, but only if you're a crony of Trump's and are given the nod as to when he's going to announce a rollback of the tariffs.

I'm sure many countries are wanting to ask Trump to hang on and talk about trade, omitting for diplomacy's sake that it's because he's screwing the world up.  That doesn't mean they're sucking up to him, although the smaller weaker economy nations may feel they have no choice, especially if the US is their main market.

 

Trump may be getting an ego boost but the whole world is getting hit to pay for it.

 

Still if all doesn't go as he planned, maybe when his nation's economy has bombed, Greenland can put in a bid to buy the more mineral rich parts of the US.  Perhaps he can sell off the military to Ukraine for a few dollars too.  They could likely use it.
