No partridges either ☹️

Knowing tree, knowing you. AHA!!

Does it need another close by to cross pollinate? My mate bought a couple from Aldi years ago and they produce fruit.

Might not be a lost cause, they can take up to 7 years to bear fruit.

How are you doing with bees and wasps?

Haven't seen any, alba

Most pear trees require a mate even those that don't would benefit from a mate.
could you get a dwarf variety and pop it in a pot?

I bought a mini pear tree as a patio one to grow in a pot. Got an apple patio one and a cherry patio oneas well . Only the Apple survives after five  summers. The Cherry was useless and the Pear likewise ,caused by a fungi, i think. I sprayed the Pear each late winter as the buds were forming and the flowers were beautiful but alas each year (4) they failed!! Take what you will from this as the Cherry failed and died too. Th'apple does well !!!!

I had the same problem with my cherry tree.  Got up one morning and it was black.  Dead.

Got a Victoria Plum tree now which is brilliant.  Big fat juicy plums late August/early September.

The only trouble is the crows know the exact day they are ripe and ready to be eaten and they get up earlier in the morning than I do!!

I haven't had fruit on my cherry trees yet but ones is doing really well and the not so!!
I too have a plum tree but it's the dogs that try and eat them!!
