Just a passing thought.  Why do contestants give their age during the introductions?  Can't think of another quiz show where this happens.

I've never seen a quiz show were they don't give their age or have their age told to the audience.

Pointless? The Weakest Link? Who Wants to be a Millionaire? Beat the Chaser? Tipping Point?

They give their age on all of those.

Rowlocks, but you're entitled to your opinion.

It's not an opinion, I watch those shows.

They definitely don't give their age on Tipping Point

On The Chase, they go along the line and they give their name and age.

Haven't watched Pointless for a while but pretty sure contestants did not give their age.

Perhaps to get an idea of their range of knowledge. Makes it interesting to build a picture of the final team.

Google's AI has this to say on the subject:

(However I might have more faith in the veracity of the info if the Daily Express report referred to there actually made any mention of age!)

I don't mind them giving their age but I get fed up with Brad saying to them that they are better than the number of questions they got right.  If they were better they would have got more right.  I am surprised that some even get their names right and often you get one that can't remember what their job title was as it's been made up to make them sound better.

I agree with shedman. I'm fed up with Brad in general. Always sniggering and laughing for a long while at his own "jokes".

He keeps saying at the end they needed a full team. Stating the obvious.

I have watched it for many years but getting tired of the repetition. I do like answering the questions though.

I think Eggheads used to give their ages.
