Well a hard headed woman,
a soft hearted man
been the cause of trouble
ever since the world began.
Oh yeah, ever since the world began
a hard headed woman been

Elvis
a thorn in the side of man.

Now Adam told to Eve,
'Listen here to me,
don't you let me catch you
messin' round that apple tree.'
Oh yeah, ever since the world began
a hard headed woman been
a thorn in the side of man.

^^  Elvis appeared too soon!!!

A long time forgotten are dreams that just fell by the way
And the good life he promised is not what she's living today
But she never complains of the bad times or the bad things he's done
She just talks about the good times they've had and all the good times to come

She's a good hearted woman in love with a good timin' man
And she loves him in spite of his ways that she don't understand
And through teardrops and laughter
They'll pass though this world hand in hand
This good hearted woman in love with her good timin' man

Willie Nelson

He sings the songs that remind him of the good times
He sings the songs that remind him of the better times

Oh, Danny Boy
Danny Boy
Danny Boy

I get knocked down
But I get up again
You're never gonna keep me down
I get knocked down
But I get up again
You're never gonna keep me down

But, Brian, you know what they say

Some things in life are bad

They can really make you mad

Other things just make you swear and curse

When you're chewing on life's gristle

Don't grumble, give a whistle

And this'll help things turn out for the best

And

Always look on the bright side of life

Python

(Quite apt for today, doncha think?)

Ha ha Brilliant film I haven't seen it for years.

When you get in trouble and you don't know right from wrong
Give a little whistle
Give a little whistle
When you meet temptation and the urge is very strong
Give a little whistle
Give a little whistle
Not just a little squeak
Pucker up and blow
And if your whistle's weak, yell "Jiminy Cricket!"

Pinocchio... Cliff Edwards and Dickie Jones

That sun is hot!
Gotta keep movin', long way to walk
Can't see shelter, I've looked a lot
No time to waste, no place to stop
'Cause one thing, hard way, I've learned
If I'm out in the sun too long I get burned
Loving every bit of this welcome breeze
But what I need is shade and trees
But it's okay and it's all right
I'll push it along 'til Pride Lands in sight
Need a break, take a rest real soon
'Til then, I'll be singing this tune

Gotta look on the bright side!
That shining sun will never get me down
Gotta look on the bright side!
A happy song will help me get around

Beau Black

Everything is great
Everything is grand
I got the whole wide world in the palm of my hand

Everything is perfect
It's falling into place
I can't seem to wipe this smile off my face

Life's a happy song, when there's someone by my side to sing along

When you're alone, life can be a little low
It makes you feel like you're 3 foot tall
When it's just you – well, times can be tough
When there's no one there to catch your fall

Everything is great
Everything is grand
I got the whole wide world in the palm of my hand......

McKenzie, performed by Amy Adams, Jason Segel, and Walter (Muppet Movie)

He’s got everybody here, in His hand,
He’s got everybody here, in His hand,
He’s got everybody here, in His hand,
He’s got the whole world in His hand.

Sat in the corner you could pass for dead
Get up on the floor shake your head
Everybody move it
Everybody move it
If you'd rather be home you can leave right now
This is a party no frowns allowed
Everybody move it
Everybody move it
Bump and grind, have a good time
Free yourself and lose your mind.....

Teddy Thompson

I don't mind when I lose my mind
Yeah, I lost my mind seven, eight or nine times
And you wouldn't mind if you lost your mind
Having lost your mind already eight or nine times
I don't mind, no it feels just fine
No, it feels just fine when I lose my mind

And it looks so nice when it's flying right by
Now I don't mind when I lose my mind
My whole life I've been losing my mind

TA

he sun comes up, I think about you
The coffee cup, I think about you
I want you so, it's like I'm losing my mind
The morning ends, I think about you
I talk to friends and think about you
And do they know it's like I'm losing my mind?
All afternoon doing every little chore
The thought of you stays bright
Sometimes I stand in the middle of the floor
Not going left, not going right
I dim the lights and think about you
Spend sleepless nights to think about you
You said you loved me, or were you just being kind?
Or am I losing
Losing my mind?

Sondheim, performed by Liza Minelli

Baby, go back to sleep
You don't have to worry 'bout me
There'll be plenty of time for the sleepless nights but for now I'll take care of things
Baby, I'll sing you to sleep
Rest your head next to me
There'll be plenty of time for the sleepless nights but for now, baby, just sleep

Adam Brand

Lay your head
Upon my pillow
Hold your warm and tender body
Close to mine

Hear the whisper of the raindrops
Blowing soft, across the window
And make believe you love me
One more time
For the good times

Perry Como et al

Work, work all week long
Punching that clock from dusk till dawn
Counting the days till Friday night
That's when all the conditions are right
For a good time

I need a good time
I've been working all week
And I'm tired and I don't want to sleep
And I want to have fun
It's time for a good time

Alan Jackson

Seven days of Saturday
Is all that I need
Got no use for Sunday
'Cause I don't rest in peace
I don't need no mondays
Or the rest of the week
I spend a lot of time in bed
But baby I don't like to sleep, no

I won't lie to you
I'm never gonna cry to you
I'll probably drive you wild eight days a week
Until I'm six feet under, baby
I don't need a bed
Gonna live while I'm alive
I'll sleep when I'm dead
Till they roll me over
And lay my bones to rest
Gonna live while I'm alive
I'll sleep when I'm dead

Bon Jovi

I hope I'm old before I die
I hope I live to relive the days gone by
I hope I'm old before I die
Well, tonight I'm gonna live for today
So come along for the ride
I hope I'm old before I die

Robbie

Eh, see you cow!
Rollin', rollin', rollin'
Though they're disapprovin'
Keep them beasties movin', rawhide!

Through rain and wind and heather
Hell-bent fae leather
Wishin' my wee lassie's by ma side

All the stuff I'm missin'
The haggis, beer and fishin'
Are waiting at the end o' ma ride

Ride 'em in, move 'em out
Move 'em out, ride 'em in
Make your mind up, (Rawhide!)

The Chaps (often mis-attributed to Billy Connolly)

Step it out, step it out with a cheer and a shout,
While we're marching through the heather.
Sing a song, keep it strong, though the way may be long,
We will all get there together.
Here we come, here we come, to the beat of the drum,
And we'll never mind the weather,
So we smile all the while, ev'ry long weary mile,
March, march, marching through the heather.

Kenneth McKellar
