Can one of the helpful AB travel advisors give me some ideas for a friend who needs to get from Luton Airport to Gerrard Street in Chinatown please - avoiding tubes and buses for reasons of her reduced mobility.

I know to take the train from Luton Airport Parkway into Central London, but would like help on which station she should travel to (Kings Cross? Farringdon? Other?) to minimise walking and then whether to just use a Black Cab (cost?) or faff around registering for Uber or similar?

Thanks

PS : Off to pub for an Easter Pint now, so will look at any answers when I get back

I'd go to Kings Cross - taxi rank a short walk from the platforms and also loads of black cabs.  I'd guess about 20 quid.  I would ALWAYS go black cab in London.

Thanks BM - very helpful

believe the 73 bus from Kings X to Cambridge Circus and 24 to Stephen Street (10 and 5 minutes) takes you to a 4 minute walk to Gerrard Street.

sorry 73 to Goodge St Staion and then 24 to Cambridge C. This also applies to Euston....

Euston 68 to Russell Street and 14 to Dean Street/Chinatown takes you very close.

note that Thameslink trains from Luton Airport Parkway don't call at King's Cross, but at St Pancras International. Also that the St Pancras Thameslink station is a long way north of the main Euston Road and the front of the station.

However there is (currently) a taxirank on Midland Road almost adjacent to the Thameslink ticket barriers, and at the same level. use the lifts to get from platform level to the booking hall (be in the middle of the 12 car train to be near the lift); Go through the ticket barriers and head through the glass doors immediately to the right.

Thanks Mushroom - very helpful indeed

Two choices of trains from Luton Airport Parkway, the faster ones are the EMR trains, slower ones are the Thameslink trains. Both go into the main St Pancras station. Just be sure to use Journey planner if going at a weekend as there are quite a lot of engineering works on currently at weekends

> Both go into the main St Pancras station.

Yes, the EMR is overground and the Thameslink is underground ...

Thanks everyone - glad I asked as there are some useful bits of knowledge there to pass on.
