If you subscribe to Duolingo Super, how many promotions for Duolingo Max do you see?

Enough to irritate or only occasionally? I'm not paying to be bombarded by ads

I use ordinary Duolingo (Latin) and don't get any ads, I guess adblock removes them.

I use it on my phone

Put an ad block on your phone.  I use BlockBear.

Does it work with apps?

Question Author

Blockbear is not available for android

I'm also interested to know if this works with apps.
I've just hit a 2223 day streak (Spanish) and I only use the basic free version of DL.

To be honest, the ads don't really bother me ..... when they come on I turn my phone volume down and put the phone down for 30 seconds or so.

That clears that up them ..... your answer wasn't there when I started typing.

*way*  😁

I can put up with the ads as I don't pay for it, but if I do choose to pay I don't want to be bombarded with ads for Duolingo Max

If BlockBear doesn't work for your phone Google adblocks for android.

I'm on day 1040 on the ordianary Duolingo (on android phone) and I only get an ad once I've finished my lesson and can always cross it off after about 4 seconds. Ads have never been an issue.

Oh it has ads now, does it. Pity, but inevitable I guess. I used to use it pre-ad days, in fact pre the days they had childish cartoon characters, as I recall my disappointment when they were introduced. I was half contemplating trying it again with a different language, seeing if I had more success with an easier language, but if there's ads I think I'll give it a miss.

I used to use it for the Spanish course and can't remember getting many if any ads.  Haven't used it for a while now but may get back into it soon.  Also found the Michel Thomas Spanish course very good, got full course for £2 on ebay a while back.

OG, Don't you have a pc ?

I do at my place, but I'm not at one place at all times. A lot of Internet stuff I do now is on the Android tablet or mobile phone; they being portable.

OG; As there's no real urgency as to when you use Duolingo why not confine it to your pc with free Adblock plus? I don't get any ads at all.

My hearing is a bit impaired so my pc is connected to a good stereo sound system too.

I shall consider it, but when back there's loads to do. Also if I don't make something a regular habit, it gets forgotten and eventually dropped. Not intentionally but nevertheless.
