Hello Ray
Can u help please - trying to sort dining out when I take hubby to Holywell at beginning of Dec for his 50th. You recommended a restaurant but its a bit far away - Betsy- coed - worried the weather may not be too good so dont want to go too far - can you recommend any pubs with decent restaurants in any villages around Holywell - say within about five miles ? Thanks in anticipation. Doll x

The Stamford Gate on Halkyn Road serves great food and the staff are really friendly, also, The Britannia Inn in Pentre halkyn do lovely food. I used to work there as a barmaid but it has recently been taken over so not sure what it is like now. If you want some sort of entertainment, the Springfield Hotel in Pentre Halkyn. They usually have some sort of tribute band or something on.
You could always travel into Chester where there are loads of restaurants but it's better if you drive as a taxi will probably cost you about 25.
Hope this helps.
Soughton Hall in Sychdyn is a lovely hotel.

Thanks to Bird81, mdoo and in a pickle -you have all certainly given me something to go at and I shall be spending my evening looking up these places on the web. Ray - thanks again - I will look forward to hearing anything you can suggest when you've spoken to your mates too.

Hi Dollie a friend says the Stamford gate is good & soughton hall is said to be superb,

The Groes inn is not far from betws-Y-Coed, and expensive for what it is, Bodysgallen Hall near Llandudno is a superb hotel but that means a longer drive than the first two, good luck dollie, Ray

if you want to e-mail me for any tips on the Conwy Valley area please do, [email protected] cheers Dollie enjoy your break
