Im am also trying to get into media, film and tv. The best work experience in my, er, experience is anything. Seriously, newspapers, radio stations, tv companies just look at their websites or ring them and tell them what you are asking now and they will help you.
Good luck.

Hey, good on you for having career aspirations at 13,wish I could have said the same! Agree with Trojon, def English....maybe worth ringing your local radio station too and find out how they got into it as everyone has to start somewhere and many from radio go onto Tv. Keep bugging people for answers,if you get offered a job making tea or something(you never know), grab it as you'll be amazed what you can pick up here and there and oooodles of luck for the future. x
What an excellent ambition - good luck to you!
Just wanted to agree withe the other two posters - English certainly, Media Studuies and maybe also History would probably be good choices.
Also contact your local paper, radio station and TV station to see if you can speak to someone about how they got into journalism. If you school has its own school newspaper perhaps you can make it into an article for that.
