Have just brought my 13 yr old daughter 2 books from the "chicken soup" series: chicken soup for the teenage soul on love and friendship and one on love, life and learning. Has anyone read these as I wonder if there for the older teenager????

Actually, you should read the 'teenage' one yourself. It contains life lessons that you're never too old to learn. For your daughter, there's plenty of stuff about being yourself, being true to yourself and not compromising yourself. Lots of comforting stories for the bad times too.
When she's a little older, think about getting her 'Life Lessons' by David Pelzer.
