Which car to buy?

Guys,

I need your advice on a motor purchase. Ideally, a car that is economical, reliable and not extortionate on the insurance.

Also, are there any cars that fit the above which offer 0% on finance (and perhaps free insurance?)

Hi Scott! Someone else asked this question about two nights back.

It depends what you want the car for. However, if you just want a reliable and cost-efficient town car then you can't go far wrong with a VW Golf. Golfs are reckoned to be the best second-hand cars that you can buy. They are incredible reliable and the running/insurance/fuel costs are reasonable too. VW Polos are also very good but Golfs are a little larger and probably more what you want (if you buy a GTi though the costs will be very high).

The other cars to consider are Skodas. Ignore the jibes as Skodas were jokes about 20 years ago when they were Czech. Then VW took them over and they turned them around by fitting their parts into the Skoda shell. So Skodas are now just VWs with Skoda badges!

There are many other types of cars of different design, size, age and price. The Vauxhall Astra and Ford Focus are very good for example. However, if you want a town car with the best balance of reliability and costs then I would say a VW or Skoda. If you go to a reputable dealer who has a good name then you should get a good car and warranty.
