I need a Windows 98 Se disk - mine is lost and I need to to install modem drivers for broadband

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.You need the 98SE disk for the Windows networking components that go with the modem drivers. I suggest you search your computer (all of C:) for a folder called "win98". These contain the cabs for Windows 98 including the networking components. If found, just point the wizard at it when you install the modem. If this is not on your machine then go through the "adding new hardware wizard" and list all the files that windows 98 wants then try and download these from the internet. Once you have them all, then try to reinstall the modem (I have done it this way and, although it took ages, it did actually work!). Alternatively, download the windows 98SE from a P2P program like kazaa.
Thinking about it, you may have the networking components already on your machine. Just point the wizard at either C:\windows\inf or C:\windows\system or C:\windows\system32. You can also go through the wizard, note down the file it wants then search your computer for it, pointing the wizard at its location (if found).
