For acting training, I would say join a local amateur dramatics group. This will give you some good experience.

If you just want to be an extra, with no speaking part, then you can try registering with some agencies.

Don't look on extra work as a sole source of income, you may only get a few days here and there, at between �25 - 100 per day. The Equity minimum is �40 per day.
