When you buy a jar of these peppers why is there a white thing in the jar? I guess you use it to strain the juice out but how do you get it out of the jar without splashing juice everywhere?!!! This is not a gag question . . . it confuses me!! Also why ie there sometimes black juice in the jar too?! Where does it come from!!! HELP!!!

The white thing is there to keep the peppers from floating above the juice. How you're supposed to get it out without making a mess is beyond me. Any black in the jar comes from the roasting of the peppers.
