sorn
In common with many thousands of others no doubt, today when I went to tax my car I couldn't find my insurance certificate. I rang the company who will be sending out a copy first class. What I need to know is, should I register the car as off the road, as if the certificate doesn't arrive tomorrow I'm worried they will 'fine' me? (Or is tomorrow even too late?) The car is kept on a driveway.
Having previously been fined 80 for not notifying a car off road (even though it had been scrapped by a garage) I am a bit wary of not doing anything.

Which brings up another point (off topic I know) but if we all used the online option, surely this would be another nail in the coffin of post offices, particularly in rural areas? After all just think how many people are queueing to tax their cars in front of you!
