Basically you don't - it's your loan, you pay. Tough.

BUT

If you have enough documentation that it is they who owe you the money, you might be able to take them to court to get the money, but it won't be easy. With some people the mere threat of court action would be enough to get them to pay up - with others even a successful court action might not get you paid.

Moral is never take out loans for others.
What was the loan used for?
This is YOUR problem sadly and it is a common one. If you have any written proof (maybe bank statements showing a transfer to their account or an agreement between you both) then you can pursue them seperately through legal channels. You will likely incur additonal legal costs though.

If you are suffering financial hardship because of the loan, go to Consumer credit councelling service - www.cccs.co.uk or CAB, they offer FREE advice and can maybe renegotiate the payment terms to make it more manageable for you, while you solve the issue with the people you gave the money too.

Expensive lesson though - DO NOT BORROW FOR OTHERS. Money is the #1 reason why friends or family fall out.

Good luck
