I have been trying to find a book or website that tells more about Alice Hume, the woman featured on the Channel 4 series "Victorians Uncovered" - she falsely accused her Indian lover of rape to protect her husband's reputation in 1883 India. Does anyone know more about this story or know of a book that mentions it? Thanks!

There were links at the Channel 4 site to books and websites, some of which may help: 'Angels target=_blank>http://www.channel4.com/history/microsites/V/victo

'Angels of Albion' by Jane Robinson (Penguin; ISBN: 0670846708, 1999) may have more on Hume. Hope this helps your search.
