Dog + arthritus

I have an 18 year old Yorkie, who has started to limp on one of her hind legs. I took her to the vets today to have her claws trimmed and to be checked over. The vet couldn't find anything wrong with her leg and he hoped that he claws being shorter wouild do the trick. She is still limping and he did suggest it could be a touch of arthritus. Can anyone recommend any good tips/supplements that I can try at home before resorting to prescriptive drugs for her?

What a good age your little dog is.I have a 11 year old scottie and he suffers with this problm i am using Joint Health which seems to be helping you put it in there food daily and its made by Herbal & Health and can be bought on the net also when its really bad i give him half an aspirin hope this helps

I refuse to pay for prescroptive drugs because they are so expensive.

I use

Vetzyme + high strength Flexible Joint
includes, Glucosamine, chondroitin msn and omega 3

and

Mark and Chappel Arthriti-um
includes Glucisamine, white shark cartilage, devils claw, green lipped mussel and Vit C

Both can be brought at pets at home

I have also invested in a magnetic collar.

Swimming is also good for them, and as your dog is a yorkie, you could let him swim in the bath.

We had a westie ,she lived untill she was 19,but old age got the better of her,she became deaf and blind and basically just kept sleeping/eating and messing everywhere,so we had to decide to let her go.However...all the time we had her and all our other dogs,we have allways given evening primrose capsules,1,000mg once a day in their food or as a sweety.Holland and Barrett,however......i have to say you should NEVER give a dog aspirin or any other human painkillers.I am speaking from the knowlage of knowing someone who did this and it did alot of harm to the dog.Regards.
