My grandad had an old book with a long poem in it - it was a humorous poem about hell and the devil. I only remember the following: "He blew his breath on a branded soul and put it aside to cool". At least, I think that's right! Who wrote it? What's it called? Do you know? Many thanks - driven me crazy for years!

I think the poem is called 'Tomlinson' and it's by Rudyard Kipling. You can find the full text on: http://www.theotherpages.org/poems/kiplin10.html
