Peter Burton, according to google, i have never heard of him .
Barry Nelson, in an American TV play, 1954.
I think he was called Jimmy Bond.

Bob Holness played James Bond on South African radio.

Barry Nelson appeared in a live (ie not pre-recorded) version of Casino Royale on TV. I saw it on video a while back. It's pretty short and undistinguished. Bond was a Yank and Felix Leiter became a Brit called Clarence Leiter, as I recall. I'm not really expecting Daniel Craig to be any better, though.
clotheshorse - Peter Burton played Q in Dr No - see here

As far as I know or can find out he never played Bond.
I may be wrong about this, but I'm sure the first person to play Bond was Mr Blockbusters, Bob Holness who played him in a Radio play in 1952 (or something like that).
I'm so glad I didnt see this question before everyone else and say something moronic like....

"Sean Connery- thought everyone knew that"

Which I would have done if i'd got to it 1st.
