my freeview has changed to small screen, its got a black border now all around it, bout 3cms thick each side..i have a regular 14" screen tv, so the view isnt widescreen..and it wasnt like this before...ive re-installed it but it still does the same,ive checked the setting is not on wide screen and just normal..but nothings changed..please help cos its doin my nut in!!!!!!

Just a possibility, well two really.

1) are you tuned to a channel showing modern stuff. You can sometimes get a border at the sides if the programme is old (or, I don't know why, if it's football on the ITV channels)

2) I don't know what make you have, but on your remote I'll bet you have some sort of up/down/east/west configuration. If I accidentally press one of the side ones, the picture reduces in size, until I press the other and it goes back. Maybe there is something like this on yours.

thanks postdog for your help...on the remote there are the direction buttons but i tried and its not changing..only the language comes up when i do it.
just out of interest does this effect happen on normal tv chanels too? if so, it could be a fault with the tv`s power supply.
