Is there a pet store near you you could ring or go to and ask for advice or an out of hours vet service, it is such a common problem they may be able to help.
Or do you have a basement or somewhere quiet you could make a cosy space for him where he can't hear the fireworks?

You could try here as they have an out of hours helpline.

I would never give him medication if I had not sought advice, I was just wondering if there was any vets on board to give me advice, I have just put him in the spare bedroom with the radio full blast and the curtains drawn that seems to be doing the trick, luckily for me the neighbours have gone out, Thanks anyway Jenna for your help

I used to use tablets called Serenium, which I got from a very good pet shop here. They worked a treat on my Irish Setter at the time. This is a natural remedy, no chemicals, no side effects. The pack cost about 5-6 at the time, but that was about 7 years ago. Don't need it with my little Shih-Tzu, as he isn't at all upset by the fireworks going on around us. :o)
I have a big Labrador and he was getting distressed practilly trying to sit on my lap.I turned tv up louder and this drowned out the noise of the bangers a bit .Did tell my neighbour why my tv was loud though. Was glad when they finished as I had 3 pubs around me letting them off and I felt I needed a headache tablet but at least it kept my dog calm.
