I want to transfer some of my record collection to CD. I have a pre-amplifier to allow me to play the record via the computer , but what software do I need to record the somgs onto computer so I cam transfer them later onto CD?
Media player doesn't appear to have any recording facilities, so what software do I need to get?

Hi nigel....... you can download a free trial from Acoustica.....It lasts for 10 days and if it's works for you, you can buy it...... I use the CD Burner from this site and it's brilliant been using it for about 2 years now.....

I needed some software to do the same sort of thing - copying my old LPs and cassettes onto my computer. I read a good feature about this in the ever-reliable mag Computeractive and took their advice to download free software called Audacity - works a treat! See http://www.download.com/3000-2170-10058117.htm l
u can also try "cd wave editor"

Many thanks for all your suggestions. Audacity seems to do the job perfectly & it is completely free!
