Okay, after being diagnosed with a stomach ulcer last week and having bloods taken,my doctor has just called me to say I have Hashimoto's disease. and have to take medication for life. It's just one thing after another the last month and I really am fed up.I know this isn't a question but I am sat alone feeling very miserable and a friendly word or two would be most welcome.

Don't ever feel alone, look how much support you have from your friends on AB, i think that is really really sweet! Bless them all. I am sure things will get better, i went through a horrible time last year and have really managed to turn my life around and now i am well, and enjoying living. Make the most of everything and take nothing for granted. Loving the name by they way! Do we share a love of all things pink..??xxhehehe
I have the same thing ..Hashimotos ..and once diagnosed and on the medication things started to look up .The weight will drop off I can assure you if you are sensible with your diet and you will soon feel and look a lot better.Dreadful thing ..it made my skin dry ,my hair thin,my weight balloon and my nails crumble and the horrible thumping in my throat all the time...but it has all improved .If I hadn't had a bad turn and passed out I would never have known and would have just struggled along thinking it was one of things .They will test your levels regularly to make sure you are getting the right amount of the hormone your body needs.Once the medication gets into your system you will feel much better. It is for life but you are not alone ..lots of people have this .
Good luck and hope you soon feel better.
