Help! have just received following e mail:

'From Cyber: The received letter contained some errors. It is delivered as an attachment.

Mail server note.'

I do not want to open the attachment in case it is a virus or something. At the same time I would like to know if it is a mail I have sent that has failed to arrive. What is the best thing to do?

Do you know who 'cyber' is? My guess is not, so it's just junk: delete it.
You should be able to "see" what the name of the attachment is without opening it.

If it is a file that ends in EXE or SCR then it is a program and is almost certainly a virus.

Be careful because some people hide the extension (EXE or SCR) at the end of a very long file name.

Overall I would probably just delete it. It does not seem a "normal" mail undelivered message.

Thanks for the advice!

fo3nix: no I have no idea who 'cyber' is.

veryhelpfulguy: didn't know that about the file ending in EXE or SCR being a program - that is useful to know. It actually says 3799.zip - whatever that means!

Will probably delete it - cannot cope with any hassle!!

Thanks once again.
