Have got original stripped floorboards in my living room and dining room, they have gaps between them, not massive, but big enough for spiders to get through (i'm petrified of them!!). Any ideas how I can fill them without it looking horrible? Thanks!
Stuffing spiders is a tricky business. Chickens and Turkeys are fine, but getting Paxo into little household arachnids is a terrible hassle..........and there's so little meat on them. Is it really worth the effort ?
we used papier mache made with newspaper and wallpaper paste and 'painted' the surfaces with paste before applying - worked a treat, sanded down easily, and was dead cheap!
I asked someone about this in Homebase. Apparently the filler only works if you can guarantee the floor boards don't move when you stand on them, otherwise the filler has nothing to 'grasp' on to. Same for papier mache but if greenrook says it works then that's brill, I might try it.
Homebase suggested thin strips of wood wedged down in the gaps (this is all dependant on how wide they are obviously), sanded then varnished.
I agree with alltorque on this one - it really isn't worth the trouble stuffing spiders as there's no meat on them to speak of - mind you, everyone gets a leg.....
