Nvidia chipset + ATI... Stupid question?
I've just ordered an asus motherboard which happens to have a Nvidia chipset, I'm about to buy a graphics card (x1950pro) until it dawned upon me. Does having a Nvidia chipset mean that only Nvidia graphics cards are compliant? I just wanna play some games!!!!!!!
That said, could someone with the technical know how and herculean cogency, let me know whats goin on. Why do compewters have to be sooo confusing?

As an aside, if you are intending to install a separate graphics card, then it's best to choose a motherboard that doesn't have on-board graphics, as (A) you will need to disable the on-board stuff in the BIOS, and (B) you will be paying for something you don't intend to use.

Just a word of caution, I bought several components from a computer fair to build my own system, including two identical graphics cards and an Asus motherboard , I was unable to load Windows as it kept crashing.
Took all the stuff back to supplier, turns out they couldn't do it either, and eventually got it working with an Asus branded Graphics card.
My Asus motherboard also has an Nvidia Chipset.
