Use a walkman , Listen to music, audio books etc . I never hear the end of anything! although I sometimes nearly garotte myself with the headphone cord!
I used to travel round country a lot and had the same problem. I followed a tip I heard Joan Collins mention in an interview - always take your own pillow - this I have found to be very good advice.
I have this problem. Used to record radio 4's "the Archers" and play on my walkman - the familiar voices are comforting and can send you to sleep. Failing that, one of those magazines that has lots of short real-life stories - self-contained and only a couple of pages long. Any use ?
