i am making a action film for a school project and was wondering if anyone had any ideas for music that i could use in it to create suspense and tension. i was thinking about using tubular bells but was just wondering if anyone else had any other ideas.
If you or your school's IT network has Sibelius you can get a whole range of instruments...
It's cheesy, but atonal string arrangements always seem to work. With tremelo.
Tubular bells...that's pretty good. I think the key idea is atonality, remove any key-centredness, keep it ambiguous, and frankly a kazoo and a set of bagpipes could probably work.
Vertigo by Bernard Hermann.... very very eerie, suspense filled and tension giving music.
It really depends how long you are wanting.
Also, it must compliment the film. Can't have something spacey, like The Day the Earth Stood Still (very tension packed) if it's about mice fighting etc.
