Blackhorse car finance - anyway out?
2 Answers
My partner currently has a car financed through Blackhorse which has a couple of years of payments to go before its all paid off.
Unfortunatley for us, the car is now too small due to the arrival of our first child and we need a bigger car. We are not in the position to be paying outright for a bigger car, nor to be paying 2 lots of finance on loans or HP, so ideally we need to get rid of the current car.
As the car is on a Personal Loan Agreement with Blackhorse, are we able to sell the car and carry on with the payments (which we couldnt do with a HP agreement) or are we stuck being unable to do anything with it until we find the money to pay off the remaining balance on it?
Any advice greatly appreciated!

However, I have read that sometimes Black Horse put such loans on the register which is supposed to be used to restrict the ability to sell cars with outstanding finance on them (the HPI Register?) and this can cause problems. If you want to sell, best to get this checked out first.
