Do flowers say enough?
8 Answers
My gf has been on holiday on the other side of the world for the last 3 weeks and flies home on Monday. As much as I wanted to pick her up from the airport, unfortunately I can't as im tied up with work commitments I can't get out of, so her dad will be doing it for me. But have arranged to have most of the rest of the week off work so that we can be together. So it will be Tuesday lunch before I get to see her. Anyway, thought I'd turn up with the obligatory bunch of flowers and bottle of wine (we don't yet live together, as were planning on moving in together in the New Year). Only thing is im not sure if that says enough. She already knows my feelings for her, but I want to now show her in some way. What I want to say is "I'm so glad your home, I love you with all my heart and want to spend the rest of my life with you" but do flowers really say all that? If not, what else should I do for her return? (please don't forget she might be shattered due to jetlag too!!)
(and im a little skint at mo - aren't we all!!)

As she'll probably feel tired and jeglagged why not arrange for a special treat waiting for her such as a lovely bath with petals and some treats such as a body scrub, luxury bath bomb/oil and a lovely note for her saying how much you missed her. Maybe a nice new bathrobe or something all done up in a nice basket. Maybe somemini treats such as a mini gin and tin of tonic or whatever she likes, or some gorgeous hot chocolate and marshmallows.
If you do it right it's wouldn't be to expensive.
A lovely idea would be, if you're ready, getting a load of picures together and getting a book of them done, like they do with wedding albums where the photo is on the pages themselves if you know what I mean. Have special memories and such written in too and telling her how you feel about her.
Give it to her when you see her with the final page asking if she wil marry you/spend the rest of her life with you.

Hi, if she has her mobile with her text her while she is on the plane....as she should have it switched off..... as Blyss said, just so those words.....it'll be the first thing she sees when she turns her phone on! You sound lovely so hopefully that'll be all she needs at that momment .....to know how you feel about her...... You can say all of your real hello's when you see her Tuesday ;O] ........
Hope all goes well

Hi, thanks for the advice.
No Jenna she lives alone, with just her 2 dogs - dont think they'll be much help with running the bath though!! But i do like your idea - turning up with all that under my arm might be nice.
As for the book idea, i do like it, and yes i do want to spend the rest of my life with her, but don't want it to look like i just asked her because shes been away (does that mke sense?). but do like the idea for a later date.
Thanks for the text idea Lisa - that one's a definite!!
But i do want to do something. I'm a chef in London by trade so thought that i might put together some great ingredients, take them to her house and cook them up and present it any picnic kind of fashion in the lounge infront of the fire. Any thoughts?
