webcam with microphone

I recently bought a Creative Webcam with a microphone but for the life of me I can't work out how to use the microphone with MSN Messenger. The picture is fine but there is no way I can work out how to transmit voice....what am I doing wrong. The person I want to speak to has the same set up and he can't get it to work either...is there something else i need to download? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

Make sure you have the latest drivers for the camera from the creative website (and/or the XP drivers from windows update). I had teh same problem until I got the latest drivers for my zoomcam, and then everything worked fine. Might be an idea to uninstall & reinstall as opposed to just doing 'update drivers' from the device manager

Ive had a webcam for years (when they were a rare thing) and I have a pc freeze problems when using the voice/cam on msn messenger. Yahoo is much better. If you want a one to one conversation then I recommend eyeball chat (www.eyeballchat.com)
