Goldfish with tail problem ?
3 Answers
Hi, A friend was telling me today about a problem with goldfish in his pond. The way he discribed it was- "the tail curled under like an arthritic hand, then the fish died. He said the tail was rock-solid to the touch and apparently a second fish went the same way.
He has about 20 fish in the pond and he's now worried about loosing more.
Please, can anyone tell me what the problem is and is there a remedy for it ? Thanks Tbird+

Its possible it is to do with the combination of cold weather and feeding. He feeds his on Wheatgerm at the moment but doesnt feed them if frost is forecast. Something to do with their digestion. If he has a decent aquatic centre near him it might be worth his while popping in for advice. (I only know how to cook them!!) cheers skylight ps what do you think of the sub cats? x
Hi Skylight, Thanks for asking about the fish problem, I've noticed with my own fish, they are much more shy when the weather turns colder and not too interested in eating,so I ease up on the food, maybe he's still chucking it in by the hand full, I'll ask him next time I see him, Cheers! (I'm good at eating them)but not the ones from the pond of course.:-)
The sub cats, well at first I thought it was a good idea (Maybe some are) but mostly people seem confused by it and its not hard to see why, I think!. Some, I've noticed have diappeared and it would'nt surprise me if more follow. hardly anyone posted in 'wildlife' but why would they when animals and nature says it all! but I would like to see the gardening sub cat stay as it is. All the Best Tbird+ x
