Which side are the buttons and zips for mens clothing. Is it true that men's are always on a different side to womens? I have a pair of jeans and the zip is on the left. Does that make them blokey ones?

Cheers

It's true, it was/is traditional, but it seems to be dieing out lately, especially so on jeans. I have jeans in both varieties.

It arose because men were assumed to dress themselves, whereas ladies would have a maid to dress them (so you can see why it's disappearing now!) The fastenings were arrenged so as to most convenient for a right-handed person to work, either for themselves or someone else, as appropriate to their gender.
