Edmund Campion was hung drawn and quartered.He was a catholic priest born in London although he did spend some time in Lancashire running from the authorities. He was executed at Tyburn I think. He's the only one I can think of with those initials from her reign.
Edmund Campion got as far as Lancashire, but I'm not sure that's very north-east. Catholic priest.
