I burned a pot of soup dry which left a horrible smell in the kitchen. Apart from the obvious things like washing the curtains etc, what else can I use to get rid of the smell? It happened a week ago and although the smell is greatly reduced, it is still there.

Fill a pot or a bowl with vinegar and leave it in the room for 24 hours. The smell should be gone by then. Hopefully your kitchen will smell a lot better.
