On the way home last night my train broke down. The driver helpfully told us that it was because the "pentagram on the middle unit had gone". Anyone have the foggiest what he was on about? Some sort of satanic ritual?

He more likely said 'pantograph' - not a chart of Christmas theatrical performances, but the thingy that sits on the roof of a train and makes contact with the overhead line, as described here
