Is 19 down Galumph ?
clue is :- Posh girl first having speed to move about joyfully .
?A?U?P?
Reason I ask is because the definitions I can find for galumph is to move round heavily and clumsily .

Yes 19d Galumph .. in collins dictionary it says to leap or move about clumsily or joyfully... and Chambers says to stride along exultantly.
......... I perhaps should have added that Posh Girl = Gal, and umph = speed.

many thanks to both of you . Could see GAL for posh girl and UMPH for speed . Suppose I will have to buy myself an up to date dikshonery sometime !

I think it's 'U' for posh (U and non-U) - with 'gal' first - & then mph (miles per hour) is speed.
I think kettledrum's explanation of the clue is the correct one. Posh girl = GAL + U and MPH for speed
