I've noticed that Wesleys have taken over the guitars for sale section on ebay so I'm guessing you might be buying it online? These are Korean made basses which look flash but are built down to a price.
My advice would be never to do this without playing it first. Go to a music store and actually play the basses you are considering buying for a good 20 mins each to see which feel and sound right for you.
Or just buy the cheapest Yamaha, Ibanez, Aria or Westone you can find!!...should be loads of offers on now for Xmas!

If your serious about playing the bass, a Fender Precision is the one you want. Its the industry standard and there is'nt a professional bassist in the world who has'nt got, owned or played one at some point. An entry level Mexican one will set you back about 300 - 350 quid The real deal, (made in USA) will cost nearer a grand. You cant beat quality and you would get most of your money back if you decided to sell it. Anyway if your just starting out , enjoy tormenting the neighbours !!!!!!!!!
